Ida y Vuelta

Curated by Gabriela Agreda & Vera Autiero

December 22 – December 29, 2024

Through a collaborative exhibition that explores the complexities of return and memory, Gabriela Agreda and Vera Autiero reflect on the nuances that shape the migratory experience. Their works intertwine two complementary perspectives: Agreda examines physical spaces as repositories of collective memory, documenting the transformations of the Venezuelan urban landscape through photography, cement, and wood; while Autiero addresses the intimate dimension of displacement through embroidery, evoking traditions, and the symbolic "baggage" that constitutes shared cultural memory.

Ida y Vuelta materializes this dialogue in collaborative works that merge Agreda's images and Autiero's embroidery, weaving a visual narrative that explores how displacement reconfigures our relationship with space, time, and belonging. Through this union of mediums and perspectives, the artists construct a bridge between the tangible transformations of the landscape and the perpetual movements of memory and identity.
